Janina Benduski - Director of the Performing Arts Programm

Janina Benduski is a co-founder of ehrliche arbeit- freies Kulturbüro, a production company for the independent performing arts. ehrliche arbeit combines concept and project development, production manager as well as PR work with dramaturgy and strategic advising for and with numerous independent artists, groups, performance venues or production institutions.  As a member of the music theater company Oper Dynamo West, she developed art projects in urban space (Die Stadt als Bühne (The City as Stage), Hatje Cantz 2010).
She has been a member of the board of LAFT - Landesverband freie darstellenden Künste Berlin since 2009 (as a non-voting member since 2013). She is the director of the Berlin Performing Arts Program, an initiative to strengthen the infrastructure of, professionalize and network the independent performing arts community in Berlin and has director of the Berlin Performing Arts Festival since 2016, which presents the work of the independent performing arts community at over performance venues in Berlin each year.  Janina Benduski has served as chairperson of the board of BFDK – Bundesverband freie darstellende Künste (The German Federal Association of Independent Performing Arts) since November 2015.
