Janina Benduski - Director of the Performing Arts Programm
Janina Benduski was born in 1978 in Berlin. She studied theater studies and Japanese studies in Berlin as well as cultural studies in Frankfurt/Oder and worked as a dramaturg and production manager during her studies. She founded ehrliche arbeit, a production office for the independent performing arts, with Elena Polzer in 2006. ehrliche arbeit combines concept and project development, production management as well as press and PR work with dramaturgy and strategic consulting, amongst others for and with She She Pop, Christoph Winkler, Oper Dynamo West, Monster Truck and Johannes Müller. As a member of the music theater company Oper Dynamo West, she has developed art projects in urban spaces since 2006.
She was a member of the board of LAFT – Landesverband freie darstellenden Künste Berlin from 2009 - 2012 and has served as a non-voting board member since 2012. Janina Benduski has supported the presentation platform Berlin Diagonale, which she co-conceived, for LAFT Berlin since 2013 and conceived the Berlin Performing Arts Program in 2012 together with Stefan Sahlmann, which she has directed since then.
