Johanna Bauer

Johanna Bauer was born in 1982 in Oldenburg, studied cultural studies and aesthetic practice with focuses on theater, media and photography at the University of Hildesheim and was a member of the transeuropa festival production team there in 2007. Over the course of her studies, she worked as a freelance production manager, dramaturg and assistant at Münchner Kammerspiele, TanzTagen Basel and in Berlin at Deutsche Theater, Hebbel am Ufer, Tanzfabrik and Sophiensaelen. From 2004 to 2008, she worked annually for the International Forum during the Berlin Festspiele Theatertreffen, most recently for the Goethe Institute as an advisor to the international grantees. She was the assistant to Joachim Lux, Artistic Director of Thalia Theater in Hamburg from 2008 to 2012 and was also responsible for international projects and guest performances. In 2010, she also became co-director of the international festival Lessingtage. She worked as a dramaturg for Kampnagel‘s international summer festival from 2012 until the summer of 2014.
