Sabrina Apitz studied public relations, theater and communication studies as well as ethnology at the Free University of Berlin and Universidad Católica del Perú in Lima. As a freelance project manager and curator, she has conceived and organized international conferences, symposia and workshops in the areas of culture and digital society, including the international conferences EINBRUCH DER DUNKELHEIT (2014) and UN|COMMONS (2015) in cooperation with Volksbühne Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz as well as the workshop TACIT FUTIRES #2 during the 2016 Transmediale. As a trainer, she has developed non-formal training offers for professionals working in international youth education and is an instructor at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK). In these areas, she also works as a moderator, editor and journalist, including for the Berliner Gazette, Wikimedia Deutschland as well as Jugend für Europa, the German national agency for the program Erasmus + Jugend in Aktion. She is a co-founder of the Europäischen Gemeinschaft für Kulturelle Angelegenheiten (EGfKA), a Berlin-based theater collective which has combined post-dramatic and classic forms of theater with well-founded theoretical work and a clear political orientation.
