Accessibility Statement

Accessibility Statement

The Performing Arts Program of LAFT Berlin is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continuously strive to make our website accessible. The declaration of digital accessibility is required by the Berlin Accessible Information and Communication Technology Act (BIKTG Bln). The technical requirements for accessibility are set out in BITV 2.0.

This declaration on digital accessibility applies to the website:
www.pap-berlin.de

When was the accessibility statement created?

This declaration was created on July 13, 2026. The declaration is based on an external assessment: The website was assessed by an external body that was not involved in the design and development process:

Reviewing body: Oliver Vaupel – ovau design studio, Hoffeldstraße 10, 40235 Düsseldorf, Germany
Reviewed by: Oliver Vaupel
Test date: September 23, 2025

How accessible is the website?

This website is currently partially accessible – the requirements of the Barrierefreien-Informationstechnik-Verordnung (BITV 2.0, the Barrier-Free Information Technology Ordinance) are partially met.

Which areas are not accessible?

Despite our efforts, users of the site may encounter problems. This is a description of the non-accessible content. Please contact us if you have found content that is not accessible and is not listed here.

Sections that are not accessible:

  1. Images and text alternatives: Not all images and graphics have an alternative text. This also applies to graphics that contain links, such as the logos in the footer of the page and the Facebook icon.
  2. Language and Labels: Individual content of the operating elements are not correctly translated or not clearly labeled.
  3. Heading and Structure: The homepage has a large number of headings on the same HTML level or the hierarchy is not logically structured. As a result, the structure of the content for screen readers is not as well recognizable as the optical structure of the page.
  4. Links: Some links are not sufficently labeled or do not contain a clearly understandable link text.
  5. Contrast ratio: The pink color chosen as the link color creates a contrast ratio that is too low and does not reach the minimum contrast value for this font size of 4.5:1. Links are also not uniformly marked as such.
  6. Enlarge texts: When switching to the mobile view, the mobile menu appears, which is marked with a button (“hamburger menu”). The height of the navigation is not set dynamically here. This means that the menu items that no longer fit when the font is enlarged are placed outside the visible window.
The fixed header area also takes up too much space. The remaining viewport becomes very narrow when the content is greatly enlarged.
  7. Keyboard Usability and Visible Focus: The Facebook symbol has a barely recognizable focus. On some navigation elements, the keyboard focus is only marked by color and is thus not clear enough. Navigation and skip functions are, in part, not optimally realized for keyboard and screen reader use. This makes long content lists difficult to navigate. The filter function of the event calendar is a form and is thus only usable accessibly to a limited degree.
  8. Audio and video files: The audio and video files on the site are not barrier-free. No subtitles or captions can be integrated into the audio files to allow you to read what is happening while the file is being played. Embedded videos do not contain a display option for subtitles.
