In-Depth Conversation: Solidarity and Inclusion

An important discussion has once again made it to the center of our attention since, at latest, the open letter from this year’s Tanzkongress in Dresden-Hellerau. How exclusionary is the idea of inclusion and how does the idea work in relation to the concept of solidarity? What bodies are invited? What voices are allowed to speak? Who contemplates accessibility and who is preventing it and where? The Munich-based author and activist Maximilian Dorner has written against the norms in our consciousness for years in his manifesto Steht auf, wenn ihr nicht könnt! (Stand Up If You Can’t!) and, with his theory that different ability is a rebellion, up ends a number of received notions. Rightly so, we think. We look forward to an evocative short presentation by Max Dorner followed by an in-depth conversation with the journalist Georg Kasch of nachtkritik.
