Descriptions of Reality - Strategies of Investigative and Documentary Theater

Research-based devised performances and documentary formats with a strong connection to societal themes are increasingly present in the performing arts. Many of the most successful, heavily touring productions in recent years have worked in a documentary manner with current topics.

Can we already speak of a paradigm shift?

Is investigatively accessing the present times simply more important than what (primarily white) men have written many decades ago? And what formats will evolve in the future?
