Independence ./. Dependence - How Do We Want to Work?

Participation within social security systems such as the Künstlersozialkasse (the public insurance fund for artists) is a basic existential requirement for the independent performing arts community.

With the new option of participating in a pension fund at Bayerischen Versorgungskammer through Versorgungsanstalt der deutschen Bühnen, this participation is taking another step forward.

This step is only one aspect of the changes regarding the relationship between freelance work and work as a regular employee. These new developments will be presented and their effects on artists as well as employers, such as performance venues or producing entities will be discussed. After all, it will not be until we have more precise knowledge of the consequences that we can find the answers to the question: how do we want to work?

In cooperation with Bundesverband Freie Darstellende Künste.

Elisa Müller (müller***** / Institut für Widerstand im Postfordismus)
