Investigative Theater and Contemporary Research

Capturing, describing and negotiating (thereby perhaps also changing) the realities of the world with theater is the motivation and process of numerous artists. In a fragmented world where filters create “bubbles” within our reality, the path of dance, theater and performance artists through the world, researching and documenting, always seems more attractive and elementary than returning to the stage as a witness, author and performer. Dramaturg Tina Ebert has created outstanding projects with a great deal of research and investigative theater with the group Laokoon.

What different topics can research-based theater handle? How can research and work processes and a theatrical translation be planned? Participants who want to work in a research-based manner are invited to share their plans or concepts.
