New Agents for Collective Authorship

How can the development of text and ideas be conceived and organized in a solidary manner by artists and producers within a shared production process? How can, for example, writers and directors encounter each other autonomously and at eye level without requiring some kind of mediator? And how are publishers and agents changing in the face of an expanded notion of the term “author”? What does this mean in conjunction with questions about the rights of authorship? Over the course of an open discussion, Sabine Westermaier and Dorothea Lautenschläger will report on their dealings with collective authorship in their respective working fields. In 2018, Sabine Westermaier and Dorothea Lautenschläger founded rua. Kooperative für Text und Regie (rua. Cooperative for Text and Direction) which works toward a solidary exchange and collective process for the development of ideas and text between writers and directors.
