10 Years of the Berlin Performing Arts Program & Summer Party of LAFT Berlin

Like every year before the summer break, we are pleased to warmly invite colleagues and all interested parties for mutual exchange followed by our summer party. This year, we also have a very special reason to be full of good cheer: the LAFT Berlin Performing Arts Program will celebrate its 10th anniversary!

An entire decade in the independent performing arts community for the independent performing arts community: we will use the opportunity to look back on the past ten years together and tell you about the results of the external evaluation of our work up until now. Most of all, though, we want to talk with all of you about our future plans - and celebrate together while enjoying drinks, food and live music.
 
Beginning at 3:00 pm, new members of the association LAFT Berlin will meet to network and get to know each other. This will be followed by the General Meeting of the association from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, where there will be a whole bunch to talk about, given the current state of things politically. All members should have already received a separate invitation to the General Meeting – if you have not, please get in touch with us.

At 7:00 pm it continues excitingly: The Berlin Performing Arts Program has worked since to structurally strengthen, professionalize and network the independent performing arts in Berlin since 2013. The effects of the program on both the development of Berlin as a location for culture as well as on the association supporting the program, LAFT Berlin, have been externally evaluated since last year. For the 10-year anniversary of the program, Dr. Janet Merkel and professor Lech Suwala from TU Berlin as well as Dr. Alexandra Manske will provide some insight into their work and we will tell you all about our plans for the coming years.
And, starting at 8:00 pm, we want to celebrate with all of you! Alongside drinks and food, there will also be live music by The Hang and maybe even some more surprise guests - make sure you bring your dancing shoes!

 
Information About Accessibility

This event will take place in German spoken language. If necessary, personal simultaneous interpretation can be provided. It is recommended that public transportation or bicycle be used in order to reach the event location. There are only a few parking spaces available in the direct vicinity. There is, however, sufficient space to stop briefly with a car, e.g. a taxi. The route from the street to the auditorium where the event will take place has no steps. There are medium-sized cobblestones in front of the entrance door. These can, however, be traversed with a wheelchair. There are no railings. The double doors of the main entrance open manually and open to the outside. When both sides are open, the entrance is approximately 170 cm wide. There is an elevator. The seating within the event space is flexible, meaning that as many wheelchair places can be offered as are needed. We would appreciate it if you could let us know if a wheelchair place is needed so that we can take this into consideration when configuring the seating in the auditorium. There are also five large beanbags available on-site and multiple cushions that can be used as alternative seats as well as two sofas in the lobby. The sanitary facilities are accessible and located about 20 meters from the entrance door and 4 meters from the conference room. We are at your disposal if you have any questions about accessibility and ask you to please let us know about your desires and needs so that we are able to orient ourselves more strongly to the needs of the participants.
