Accessible Producing Practice & Artistic Development
Accessible Producing Practice & Artistic Development
Three-Day Workshop: April 27, 28, 29, always from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm
This workshop is aimed at artists and producers who want to deepen their understanding of accessibility, production and artistic development. We will approach these topics using specific project management methods and concepts, with a focus on accessible practices. Over the course of the three days, we will explore the fundamentals and inclusive frameworks that underpin accessible working practices (e.g., disability arts, crip theory, care and sustainability in production). We will look at project planning and management as well as the role of the producer in accessible contexts, drawing on practical tools such as accessibility audits, riders and budgets. Participants will have the opportunity to further develop their own practice and projects by learning how to plan current or future productions to be accessible from the outset.
The workshop combines short inputs, group discussions and individual reflection with practical exercises based on the participants' projects and is aimed at both newcomers and established artists and producers. Participants are invited to bring a current or imaginary project that they can work on during the three days. We will organize our workshop time together, drawing on concepts such as “Crip Time” and “Thriving Instead of Just Surviving” to work in an accessible format that allows for different ways of learning, working speeds and collaboration. Breaks, participation modalities and forms of exchange will be determined together at the beginning of the workshop and adjusted as the workshop progresses.
In optional digital follow-up sessions, participants will have the possibility to revisit and clarify workshop elements in a smaller group, ask further questions concerning access, producing and artistic development and receive peer and facilitator feedback on next steps and challenges.
If you have any questions or requirements regarding accessibility, please contact us in advance so that we can plan accordingly.
In English spoken language, it is possible to ask questions and make comments using German spoken language
