Application Workshop [HERE COMES A PROJECT]
Application Workshop [HERE COMES A PROJECT]
March 11 to 13, 10:00 am to 6:00 pm each day
In this three-day workshop, everything revolves around the application and presentation of your projects: On the first day, we will dedicate ourselves together to the writing of comprehensible concepts and project descriptions. We will concentrate on how to establish a structure for the contents, practice using a variety of text tools and discuss questions of style together. On the second day, we will place our focus on how to translate concepts into numbers, on fair budgeting and how to create realistic budgets and financing plans. On the third day, the focus will be placed on self-presentations and project presentations. How do I communicate my work to others in an impressive manner during quick encounters in the lobbies of theaters? How can I successfully talk about my project with those responsible for programming performance venues? How can one create the perfect pitch? In addition, we are also looking forward to closing things out with our surprise guest who will provide us with insight from the perspective of those responsible for programming performance venues.
This workshop is intended for transnational artists with little experience in preparing applications for funding whose first language is not German and who can communicate confidently in English spoken language. In order to be able to work specifically and practically, we ask the participants to bring a short text of a maximum of 2,000 characters including blank spaces for a future or past project with them. The participants will also need a laptop that has Excel installed on it and – if they have it – a budget for their project.
In English spoken language, it is possible to ask questions and make comments using German spoken language.
