Cooperation and Getting Gigs for Newcomers: What to Communicate to Whom and How?

With Max Schumacher (co-artistic director of Post Theater, director of Die Bühne of the Technical University of Dresden)

Proceeding from current projects or works, the participants will first conduct a stocktaking of their current status: What phase is my work currently in? What do I want and where do I want to take my work? What do I need to do so and how do I proceed from here? But most of all: who do I have to convince about the quality of my work before I invite an audience? Funders, performance venues, colleagues - all of these have to be communicated with, but each one requires a different form of communication. Cooperation requires communication. Who do I want to work for and what context is suitable for me? Depending upon who is being addressed, each project (from the project idea to the finished production) should be presented differently. In the workshop, the participants will practice tailoring their project presentations for different target groups and their needs. They will learn techniques for presenting their work in an interesting manner as well as strategies for getting their projects to the next level desired.
