"Bridging The Scenes" Delegation Trip to the Malá Inventura Festival 2026 in Prague

Independent Art Scenes – Berlin Meets Prague! 

As part of Bridging The Scenes and with the goal of further networking the independent performing arts communities in Prague and Berlin, we are offering Berlin-based curators, dramaturgs and artists with producing responsibilities working within the independent performing arts community the opportunity to visit the the Czech Malá Inventura in Prague! Participants will travel to the Malá Inventura in Prague from February 25 to 28, 2026, get to know the scene and its actors, aesthetics and working methods and take part in the festival, the program for professional visitors and other events by arrangement.

Travel and accommodation costs as well as tickets for performances during the festival are covered by the Berlin Performing Arts Program. A detailed program plan for the trip will be announced after registration and selection of participants.

The Malá Inventura is part of the Bridging The Scenes network, with whose partner organizations we regularly organize delegation trips. All participating festivals and organizations strengthen the visibility of their local scene and actively draw attention to the cultural-political dimension of the independent performing arts work.

Who is the call intended for?

We welcome applications from all Berlin-based curators, dramaturges, and artists with producing responsibility who have a sustained interest in the local scene in Prague and the Czech Republic.

What should be submitted?

For the application, we ask you to please send us a CV as a PDF file (German or English, without photo, max. 1 page DIN A4) as well as a statement of motivation (English) that expresses the specific interest in conducting an exchange with the community in Prague and Czechia. Please answer the following questions in your statement of motivation:

• Why do I want to take part in the Malá Inventura?
• Why is attending the Malá Inventura useful for my work?
• How can the partners from Czechia benefit from our exchange?

The statement of motivation can be sent as text or audio! Please pay attention to the following length and format requirements:

• Text: max. 2000 characters (with spaces), as .pdf
• Audio: 1 to 3 minutes long, as .mp3 or .wav

Important Notes:

• If you choose the option audio, it is absolutely necessary to follow the desired formats (.mp3, .wav). Unfortunately, files in any other format cannot be considered. Sending a portfolio of selected works is optional. The representation of social diversity in our structures is our goal. We therefore explicitly invite representatives of marginalized perspectives to apply.
• Those who wish to travel must be able to be present for the entire duration of the delegation trip (expected from February 25 to 28, 2026). Only in very well justified cases will shorter participation be considered.
• An extension of the stay at the cost of the participant is possible. Any additional accommodations and airline or train tickets must, however, be organized and paid for by the participants themselves.

About the Malá Inventura Festival

The Malá Inventura festival will be held for the 24th time in 2026 and brings together the most important events and performances from the independent performing arts community that have been created in the independent performing arts community of Prague and beyond in the last year. The festival is connected with the Berlin Performing Arts Program through a long-term partnership.
