Give & Take, or: On Fair Payment and Self-Confident Negotiation

How much money do I actually need to live on – each month and each year? And, very importantly: how do I explain this to someone? How do I convince partners to pay me precisely this amount? Or: How do I make it possible to pay precisely this to someone else? Anyone who is struggling a little with these questions will find strategies for formulating answers here. In this workshop, we will explore ways to put aside our inhibitions when it comes to talking about money and take a look at the hard facts - taxes, minimum fee limits and additional obligations that we cannot get around as independent freelance workers. We will develop specific ideas for how to create comfortable framework conditions for negotiations and how to arrive at a fair payment – both from the perspective of the recipient as well as from the perspective of the contracting authority. This workshop is intended for everyone who works with numbers and budgets but still feels a certain sense of shyness when it comes to negotiating the value of their own work.
