How To: Manage Applications and Complete Projects – A Workshop for Neurodivergent Members of the Community

With Kathrin Köller (neurodivergent author, specialized in neurodiversity)

Do you have great ideas, would you prefer to start two or three projects at the same time and are you already thinking about casting and design after hours of research? Have you discovered great calls for applications and funding opportunities but are already overwhelmed by reading all of the requirements and tasks that an application brings with it? When writing applications, do you lose yourself in spirals of self-doubt, fear of rejection and imposter syndrome?

A number of artists and culture makers are familiar with these feelings, but these fears present real obstacles to neurodivergent people along the path to realizing their projects: it is all too often that great ideas and projects do not see the light of day because the application procedure was stopped before completion.

After a brief introduction to the typical phenomena that neurodivergent people with RSD (Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria) encounter, the participants will share their experiences and examples from their own practice and learn helpful strategies they can use to create their own personal first aid kit to help them finish applications and structure projects.

This workshop is intended for everyone who come together under the neurodivergent umbrella – and it doesn’t matter whether this is self-diagnosed or diagnosed by an external party. During the workshop, we will provide an atmosphere where breaks, snacks, movement and stimming are planned and welcome.
