How To: Performing Archive. An Introduction to Archiving Your Own Practice

No matter whether you are right at the beginning of your artistic project or whether you can look back on many years of work in the independent performing arts community: only what is documented and stored, however, remains explainable, findable and usable – both for yourselves as well as for others. Would you like to store your work and the associated stories and experiences and make it visible but know how it works or how to get started? The platform performingarchive.org helps you do so: there, you can upload digital material free of charge, describe it and share the data with other users. In this workshop, we will look at the first steps of archiving together – from storage to digitalization to clarifying the legal rights and adding objects to the digital archive of the independent performing arts.

Requirements for participation: your own laptop or tablet as well as an object whose story you would like to share online with others.
