How To: Produce Accessibly – Budget for Accessibility
How To: Produce Accessibly – Budget for Accessibility
Short Workshop in the Series Producing Accessibly
How can accessibility be meaningfully integrated into project budgets from the outset? What does accessibility actually cost? How much should I budget for a German Sign Language interpreter, captioning, audio description, accessibility support or making rehearsal and performance spaces more accessible? Where can I find reliable information on accessibility costs and how can I communicate these needs within funding applications?
This workshop explores practical approaches to identifying accessibility needs, translating them into budget line items and making informed decisions within real-world funding constraints. Drawing on examples from the field of the independent performing arts, we will look at common accessibility costs and strategies for budgeting realistically while centering accessibility in project planning.
This workshop is intended for artists, producers and culture workers seeking to strengthen their accessibility budgeting practice. Participants are welcome to bring questions and examples from their own projects.
In English spoken language, it is possible to ask questions and make comments in German spoken language
