Independent Performing Arts Tour: U8 – Artery of the Avant-Garde

Along the U8 subway line, we explore three production and performance venues of the independent performing arts community, where participation, politics, and art intersect within a theatrical space for thought. Alongside its in-house studio program, TATWERK expands access to cultural offerings as a nomadic venue, presenting events in public spaces and temporary locations. Its current focus lies on residencies, participatory processes, and strengthening an international network. For 16 years, VIERTE WELT KOLLABORATIONEN has been active in the heart of Kreuzberg. Located directly at Kottbusser Tor, it presents political discourse theatre: the venue is a prototype for a new cultural practice that brings together philosophy and politics, performance and discourse, and makes them tangible and workable. 

Since its opening in 2010, UFERSTUDIOS has provided choreographers, dancers, and other artists with space for professional work in an inspiring environment rooted in openness and participation.
