Information Event of the Performing Arts Program & Summer Party of LAFT Berlin

The day has finally arrived! Like we do every year, we are very pleased to provide an invitation for you to inform yourselves about the current projects and opportunities provided by the Berlin Performing Arts Program, after which you can then join in the "summer party" – which is an autumn party this year – to celebrate with all of us. We are going to come together in Haus der Statistik so that we can talk with each other about the newest productions, the last delegation trip, the most interesting publications and the craziest work on committees that we have encountered over the last year.

In the afternoon, at 3:00 pm, we will dive into a topic-specific working and networking meeting provide information over the course of snacks and drinks in direct conversations about our current projects. At 7:00 pm, things will get official for a few minutes and we will give you some insight into the last twelve months, share some new plans for the Berlin Performing Arts Program and the Initiative Fairstage – and show opportunities for working along with us in our cultural policy work in the background.

After this, we invite you to join us for what is probably the last summer party of the year! Over the course of food and music by DJ Grace Kelly, we are at your disposal for conversations, questions, suggestions or amusing anecdotes and hope that we will be able to give all of you some space for some companionable socializing and for the forging of important alliances.

The formats will primarily take place in German spoken language. If necessary, personal simultaneous interpretation into English spoken language can be provided. Networking Event About the Opportunities for Industry Professionals in the Berlin Performing Arts Program

The Berlin Performing Arts Program organizes events in Berlin at regular intervals for industry professionals as well as national trade fair visits and international delegation trips for the independent performing arts community of Berlin. The goal is to increase the visibility of the independent performing arts community of Berlin beyond the borders of the state and to strengthen the international and national exchange. Catherine Launay and Belén Marinato warmly invite you to attend a networking meeting in order to enter into conversation with us about these formats, current needs and desires for their further development and possible innovations within the opportunities we provide.

Workshop for Theater Scouts – Audiences Format for Diverse and Multicultural Audiences (closed event)

This workshop will provide a platform for all active theater scouts to consider what audience formats for diverse and multicultural audiences should look like. The focus will be placed on past experiences, good practice examples and ideas that are still to be realized. Over the course of a shared discussion and practice, we will develop new approaches and refine existing concepts in order to Berlin’s independent performing arts community even more accessible for a broad and diverse audience.

LAFT Berlin: Budget Crises - A Discussion About the State of Things and New Plans

Is everything as bad as it was before or are things even worse? A huge number of questions are still open regarding the current budget cuts and savings measures in the German federal budget as well as the individual German federal states. What is really actually going to happen and what is still being planned? What can still be prevented? What initiatives for protesting all of this are forming? Where can artists and culture workers join in and help? Anke Politz, Anne Schneider, Daniel Brunet and Janina Benduski warmly invite everyone who is interested to inform themselves about the current state of things and to forge new plans in shared conversations.

Meet & Greet the Experts from the Information Center (closed event)

Christin Eckart and Christiane Kretschmer are pleased to invite the advisors, instructors and mentor of the Information Center to attend an informal meeting in order to get to know each and to see each other again, whichever the case may be. Here there will be space to enter into conversations about one’s own advisement practice and to discuss the coming challenges for the independent performing arts community as well as consequences for those seeking advisement.

Information Stands and Networking While Enjoying Drinks and Snacks

We will provide detailed insight into the activities of the projects and the work of the association the information stands of the Berlin Performing Arts Program and of FAIRSTAGE.

Options for Food and Drink
Coffee, tea and tap water will be available during the event. In addition, there will also be some fruit and cookies. Toward the end of the event, we will also offer a vegetarian and vegan dinner. In addition, there will be the opportunity to purchase additional drinks at your own expense.


Event Location
The event will take place in the Haus der Statistik. Due to the construction work taking place there, the work and presentations are taking place in the temporary buildings OTTO, ALEXIS and KARLA. The event spaces are at ground level or accessible without steps using ramps. A wheelchair accessible WC is located close to the entrance and is also marked by signs. If you have any difficulties, our team is happy to help you on-site.
