Information Event “GEMA/GVL and the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)”

The introduction of the GDPR (known as the DSGVO in its German abbreviation) on May 25, 2018 brought about changes and thus uncertainties and, at the moment, the first GEMA/GVL bills based on the new tariffs are beginning to arrive.

Stephan Behrmann (managing director of BFDK - Bundesverband freie darstellende Künste, the German Federal Association of the Independent Performing Arts) and Marco Tessendorf (managing director of Procado Consulting) will summarize the regulations and changes in two brief presentations and in conversation with Aurora Kellermann (Performing Arts Program) and will then answer questions from the audience.

5:00 pm – 6:00 pm: GEMA/GVL
Who has to make payments to GEMA/GVL, for which events and according to which tariffs? Stephan Behrmann will provide a general introduction to the tariff system and answer questions.

6:00 pm – 7:00 pm: General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
Which worries are justified, which are not and most of all – what does this new regulation actually bring about and what about it affects the members of the independent performing arts community? Marco Tessendorf explains the changes in conversation with Stephan Behrmann.
