KiA-Program - An Overview of the Funding Goals, Formats and Funding Applications
With Dagmar Domrös (Theater o.N.)
Beginning this year, Berlin’s Senate Department for Culture and Europe is funding children’s theater, youth theater and puppet theater as well as members of the independent performing arts community working in the field of theater for young audiences with the so-called KiA-Förderung program. This funding program has set itself the goal of closing the so-called “blind spots” within Berlin’s districts and filling them with opportunities to see theater as well as to strengthen the existing locations, increase the participation of children and young people and improve the working and living conditions of those working in the fields of children’s theater, youth theater and puppet theater. In order to achieve this, four funding formats are offered within the scope of the program - performance fees, performance venue funding, project funding for the field of culture as well as a funding program for developing concepts. The individual districts of Berlin will each individually administrate the funding.
Over the course of an information event, the KiA-Förderung program will be presented in its individual formats and details about the funding applications as well as the goals of the funding program will be explained.
