Open Call: Delegationtrip "Bridging The Scenes" to the Selected Works Festival in Copenhagen 2025
Open Call: Delegationtrip "Bridging The Scenes" to the Selected Works Festival in Copenhagen 2025
Independent performing arts – made in Denmark!
Are you passionate about the independent performing arts in Denmark? Is your work related to Denmark and would you like to network with local producers and venues and include new artists in your group/company? Or would you simply like to get to know the danish independent scene and take part in events for professionals and network meetings?
We are offering eight Berlin-based independent performing artists the opportunity to visit the Danish Selected Work Festival in Copenhagen!
Participants will travel to the Selected Work Festival in Copenhagen from January 14 to 18, 2025 to get to know the scene and its actors and take part in the festival, the program for professional visitors and other events by arrangement.
The Selected Work Festival is part of the "Bridging the Scenes" network, with whose partner organizations we regularly organize delegation trips. All participating festivals and organizations strengthen the visibility of their local scene and actively draw attention to the cultural-political dimension of the independent performing arts work.
Travel and accommodation costs as well as tickets for performances during the festival are covered by the Berlin Performing Arts Program. A detailed program plan for the trip will be announced after registration and selection of participants.
Have we piqued your interest? Then we look forward to receiving your applications by December 3, 2024!
Who is the call aimed at?
All Berlin-based curators, program directors, producers and artists with production responsibility who have a sustained interest in the local scene in Denmark and Kopenhagen, for example either an existing collaboration or a concrete interest in collaborating with actors and/or venues from Bulgaria's independent scene, are eligible to apply.
What should be submitted?
For the application we ask you to send us a CV as a PDF file (German or English, without photo, max. 1 page DIN A4) and a statement of motivation. Please answer the following questions in your statement of motivation:
-
Why do I want to take part in the Selected Works Festival?
-
Why is attending the Selected Works Festival useful for my work?
-
How can the actors from Denmark benefit from our exchange?
-
What contacts do I already have in the Danish independent scene? If you have existing collaborations, please name them specifically.
The statement of motivation can be sent as text, video or audio! Please pay attention to the following length and format requirements:
-
Text: max. 5000 characters (with spaces), as .pdf
-
Audio: 1 to 2 minutes long, as mp3 or .wav
-
Video: 1 to 2 minutes long, as mp4 (Please refrain from showing your own face)
Important notes:
-
If you choose the audio or video option, it is essential that the desired formats (mp3, wav, mp4) are adhered to. Unfortunately, files in any other format cannot be considered. The submission of a portfolio of selected works is optional. The representation of social diversity in our structures is our goal. We therefore expressly invite representatives of marginalized perspectives to apply.
-
Those who wish to travel must be able to be present for the entire duration of the delegation. Only in very well justified cases will shorter participation be considered.
-
An extension of the stay is possible at the applicant's own expense. However, extra accommodation and flight/train tickets must be organized and arranged by the applicant.
