Open Call for Instructors for Qualification Formats Beginning in 2024
Since 2013, the Berlin Performing Arts Program has supported members of the independent performing arts community through a diverse range of opportunities including information events, workshops and other qualification opportunities with independent instructors from a wide range of areas. Our range of opportunities are available to all members of the independent performing arts community, free of charge. We offer orientation, the transfer of knowledge and qualification both for newcomers as well as for more established members of the community.
Our range of opportunities have been financed exclusively through a variety of project funding since 2013. Our new project BECOME – Zukunftsfähig und resilient in den freien darstellenden Künsten (Fit For the Future and Resilient in the Independent Performing Arts) is funded by Berlin’s Senate Department for Culture and Community and the European Social Fund ESF and will run until the end of 2025. For this project, we are on the lookout for instructors who would like to pass on their knowledge and their experience concerning producing independently in Berlin in a variety of different formats.
Possible Formats: Up until now, the planned formats have included information and networking events (2 to 3 hours), brief workshops on topic-specific questions (3 hours), longer workshops for a more in-depth consideration of a specialist area (from 6 hours) or ongoing seminar series with multiple dates. Additional format ideas are welcome.
Compensation: 45 € per hour (net) including preparation and follow-up work. The instructors agree to document the participation and the increase of competence in the participants. We will conclude fee agreements for the work as instructors.
Work Period: From the beginning of February 2024, at the earliest - end of August 2025
There is a clearly delimited work period due to the nature of the project funding. A continuous collaboration in following projects is definitely desired, will be sought for and, based on previous experience, is also possible.
Scope of Work: Depending upon format, independent work with a framework contract over the entire periodand/or individual orders for formats.
Statements of Interest: We are asking all interested parties to send statements of interest by January 15, 2024 in order to make it possible to being offering the opportunities in the first half of the year 2024. This call for statements of interest will probably be issued once again in the summer of 2024.
