Open Call Exchange Trip: Raumfahrt – Expeditions to Different Independent Performing Arts Community in the Year 2020
Open Call Exchange Trip: Raumfahrt – Expeditions to Different Independent Performing Arts Community in the Year 2020
During this turbulent year 2020, the Berlin Performing Arts Program is very pleased to be able to announce an exchange trip in cooperation with NRW Landesbüro Freie Darstellende Künste (the North Rhine-Westphalia State Office for the Independent Performing Arts):
Raumfahrt – Expeditions to Different Independent Performing Arts Community in the Year 2020 contains a trip by delegates from Berlin to the Favoriten festival in Dortmund from September 11 to September 13 as well as an invitation to selected members of the independent performing arts community from North Rhine-Westphalia to attend the 8th Industry Get-Together of Berlin's Independent Performing Arts Community from October 1 to October 3.
As in past years, the goal of the exchange format is to create new networking structures between the various independent performing arts communities within the German-speaking world as well as to provide a forum for encounters and exchange. And when could this possibly be more important than in these times of constant change and necessary hyperflexibility?!
Members of the independent performing arts communities in Berlin and in North-Rhine Westphalia are warmly invited to take part in the Raumfahrtprogram to begin discussions and share new knowledge in a time of reduced options for action with changed working realities, unseen challenges and new opportunities.
The participants of the Raumfahrt program will take part both in the public events of the Berlin Industry Get-Together of the Independent Performing Arts Community and the Favoriten festival as well as in private formats with a smaller number of participants.
The Program Contains:
September 11 to 13, 2020: The Raumfahrt participants from Berlin will travel to the Favoriten festival in Dortmund, meet the participants from North Rhine-Westphalia and take part in the festival’s schedule of programming together.
October 1 to 3, 2020: The delegation from North Rhine-Westphalia will then travel to the 8th Get-Together of the Independent Performing Community in Berlin, take part in the conference’s schedule of programming together with the participants from Berlin and receive the opportunity to continue exchange conversations during the conference and strengthen new contacts.
All members of Berlin's independent performing arts community are warmly invited to take part in Raumfahrt! In order to apply to join the delegation to the Favoriten festival, we ask you to send us a brief statement of motivation (max. 2 DIN A4 pages) that indicates your specific interests in participating in an exchange with the independent performing arts community of North Rhine-Westphalia. Participants from Berlin who are applying should ensure that they are able to participant in the events within the schedule of programming of the Industry Get-Together in Berlin in addition to the trip to Dortmund.
Applications can be submitted until August 3, 2020 to raumfahrt [at] pap-berlin.de (raumfahrt(at)pap-berlin.de).
Please note: At the moment, the team of the Favoriten festival as well as the team of the Industry Get-Together of Berlin’s Independent Performing Arts Community are planning for their events to primarily be realized as analog formats. For obvious reasons, there can be no guarantee that any of these activities will be able to realized as originally planned. The events within the Raumfahrt program may need to be adapted to respond to changes within the festival and conference.
We are at your disposal if you have any questions regarding the call for applications and the application process.
We look forward to an exciting exchange during exciting times,
Ulrike Seybold (The board of NRW Landesbüro Freie Darstellende Künste) & Caroline Galvis (Performing Arts Program / Central Point of Contact & Touring Office)
