Open Call: Shared Trade Fair Booth at the Internationalen Kulturbörse in Freiburg (IKF)
The Internationale Kulturbörse (Freiburg International Culture Exchange, or IKF) has been taking place each year since 1989, features approximately 400 international presenters and is one of the most important networking events for those working in the fields of street theater, aerial arts, contemporary circus, puppet and object theater as well as cabaret in the German-speaking world. In 2022, the 34th IKF will be held at its usual location on the Freiburg trade fair grounds. The Berlin Performing Arts Program will be represented by a shared trade fair stand and is offering Berlin-based artists the opportunity to present themselves and their work there.
A prerequisite for taking part is a long history of professional work within the independent performing arts and a primary residence in Berlin. In addition, each participant must at least one production that has already premiered and is capable of being toured that can be presented at the trade fair with corresponding print and possibly video trailer material (max. 3 minutes in length).
We would like to give as many artists as possible the option of taking part, but we do reserve the right to make a selection on the basis of the promotional material provided in the event that there are more applicants than there is space. In the event of restrictions to the number of visitors due to measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19, we also reserve the right to assign spots at the trade fair stand on a day-by-day basis. In any event, we ask the registered groups to please send only one representative to Freiburg.
Anyone who would like to take part is asked to please send a binding application including links with informative digital promotional material (trailer, websites, flyers in PDF form, et cetera – and please send large files via WeTransfer) with the subject “IKF 2022” by December 5, 2021 to: messe [at] pap-berlin.de.
We will then need additional print promotional material from the selected artists (max. 100 flyers / brochures or similar materials and possibly 3 or 4 small posters). These should arrive at the Berlin Performing Arts Program office by January 15, 2022 at the latest.
