Open Call: Shared Trade Fair Stand at the INTHEGA Theatermarkt in Bielefeld on June 12 and 13, 2023
The Interessengemeinschaft der Städte mit Theatergastspielen e.V. (the Association of the Interest Group of Cities with Theatrical Guest Performances, or INTHEGA) is a communal umbrella association with some 400 member cities from throughout the German-speaking world. At the INTHEGA Theatermarkt, the leading trade fair for German-speaking touring theater, those offering touring theater productions present their work to programmers of cultural institutions each year in Bielefeld.
The Theatermarkt will be held in 2023 on June 12 and 13. In addition, the INTHEGA Kongress will be held on June 14, during which presentations, discussions and workshops will examine current topics within the area of guest performances.
The Berlin Performing Arts Program will make a trade fair stand available as a platform for Berlin-based artists and producers there. We warmly invite all members of the independent performing arts community to present themselves and their work at the trade fair stand and to converse with potential programmers. A prerequisite for taking part is a long history of professional work within the independent performing arts and a primary residence in Berlin.
In addition, each participant must have at least one production that has already premiered and is capable of being toured that can be presented at the trade fair with corresponding print and possibly video trailer material.
We would like to give as many artists as possible the opportunity to take part. We do, however, reserve the right to make a selection on the basis of the promotional material provided in the event that there are more applicants than there is space. In any event, we ask the registered groups to please send only one representative to Bielefeld.
Anyone who would like to take part is asked to please send a binding application including links with informative digital promotional material (trailer, websites, flyers in PDF form, et cetera - and please send large files in the form of a link to download the files) with the subject “INTHEGA 2023” by April 10, 2023 to: messe [at] pap-berlin.de.
We will then need additional print promotional material from all of the selected artists (max. 100 flyers / brochures or similar materials and possibly 3 or 4 small posters). These should be delivered to the office of the Berlin Performing Arts Program no later than two weeks before the Theatermarkt.
