Wanted: Opportunities for Volunteers to Present at the Berliner Freiwilligenbörse

Do you operate a performance venue or production location in Berlin and does your structure offer opportunities for people to get involved on a voluntary basis? Can people gain insight into Berlin’s independent performing arts community or become part of your community through doing this? Have you already been asking yourself for a while about how you can reach people about this voluntary engagement and get them excited about it?

Then please do drop us a line: on April 25, 2026, the Berlin Performing Arts Program will once again be represented with a booth at the Berliner Freiwilligenbörse and will present your opportunities to potentially interested volunteers there. From helping to tend to the theater’s garden to helping hands for setting up and breaking down festivals to audience services, box office and bar work all the way to audience advisory councils or board member work – many different things are possible!

If, in turn, you have resources available that you can provide to existing voluntary initiatives (for example, a lobby that can be used for meetings), please also let us know and we will try to make corresponding connections at the Freiwilligenbörse.

What is the Berliner Freiwilligenbörse and why is it important to take part in it?

The Freiwilligenbörse has taken place annually since 2008 and is organized by Landesfreiwilligenagentur Berlin e.V. Visitors can inform themselves about opportunities for social engagement at over 100 stands in and around the Rotes Rathaus in fields including education, culture or social affairs. This makes the Freiwilligenbörse an important place for civil society networking in Berlin.

We look forward to representing Berlin’s independent performing arts community there and communicating specific opportunities and/or offerings for engagement in your performance venues and production locations to interested people.

You can find more information about the Freiwilligenbörse here: https://berliner-freiwilligenboerse.de/
