Writing Funding Applications in Multilingual Teams

With Aurora Kellermann (direction and curation of TATWERK | Performative Forschung)

Two-Day Workshop: March 25 and 26, always from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm

Do you work in multilingual and would you like to know this influences your funding applications? Are you on the lookout for new working methods for joint writing and are asking yourselves how your different native languages can enrich your text work? This is exactly what we will look at during this two-day workshop.

We will look at examples from current linguistic research and conduct practical exercises to recognize language patterns of the different native language and how these are transferred to a foreign language. Together, we will investigate in which cases the language is enriched by this and where the communication is hindered.

Existing application texts will be analyzed and small multilingual groups will work on new texts. Through this shared work, the participants will learn how different perspectives and linguistic backgrounds can result in creative solutions and how the quality of applications can be increased. The workshop teaches both practical skills in writing applications as well as collaborative working methods that can also be transferred directly to the participants’ practices.

In German and English spoken language, it is possible to ask questions and make comments in Italian spoken language
