Information Event: INTHEGA – The Network for Touring Theater Productions

The Interessengemeinschaft der Städte mit Theatergastspielen e.V. (INTHEGA) puts on the INTHEGA-Theatermarkt every vear in Bielefeld and is the leading trade fair for German-language touring theater productions. The members of INTHEGA are cities, communities, associations and additional institutions that are responsible for communal cultural programming and work with the producers and providers of touring productions to provide programming. The Theatermarkt will be held on June 29 and 30, 2026.

The Berlin Performing Program has been represented at the INTHEGA-Kongress with a shared trade fair stand for Berlin-based artists for many years. We would like to share background knowledge as well as some tips and tricks for a successful trade fair presentation with everyone who is interested in attending our information event. Gero John (musician and co-founder of the theater label Bühne Cipolla with Sebastian Kautz) and Edgar Common (the director of the office for culture of the city of Offenburg for over 30 years and now a board member of INTHEGA) will present their work at the information event and provide insight into the programming and structures of the theater market. 

Gero John will place a focus on the special features of the INTHEGA-Kongress and share his 14 years of experience with the trade fair. There will also be plenty of tips and hints for people who are looking to apply to take part in the trade fair stand of the Berlin Performing Arts Program.
Edgar Common will share his experience gained over many years of running the office for culture of Offenburg and as a member of the INTHEGA board to explain how a collaboration about the member institutions of INTHEGA and the indepenent performing arts community can work.
