International Networking Meeting for Those Working in Production

In collaboration with the Dachverband Tanz Deutschland (the Umbrella Association for Dance in Germany, or DTD), the Berlin Performing Arts Program invites you to attend the second of two international networking meetings for those working in production. The meetings are dedicated to the topic of lobbying and asks how strengths can be combined and how new alliances can be pursued. After the first meeting at the end of March was able to provide a good overview of the topic, the focus of the second meeting is placed on best practice examples for lobbying and advocacy. The meeting is intended for everyone who is entrusted with production tasks in the broadest sense: producers, production managers, production offices and networks that deal with questions relevant to the profession.

The job description of producers is and will remain fluid: questions regarding that role within (collective) working situations, the basic working conditions within the independent performing arts community, social coverage as well as funding for newcomers and opportunities for education need to continue to be asked and are an important part of the advocacy work to externals. Numerous initiatives have been invited to present themselves and their work on the basis of specific examples to enrich this examination with practical examples: Meera Krishnan (Prakriti Foundation/ Alliance of Agents/Distributors), Ulrike Kuner (European Association of Independent Performing Arts), Jaciel Neri (Moving Borders/ CAMP_iN) and Martha Hincapié Charry (Plataforma Festival).

In order to strengthen the exchange and enter into as many direct interactions as possible, the first part of the meeting will be dedicated to getting to know each other through guided speed networking.
