Venue: Ackerstadtpalast, Ackerstraße 169/ 170, 10115 Berlin
Language: German
How does working in rural areas actually work? What does a rural audience expect and what topics and discourses are in demand? What kinds of funding, cooperation and networking opportunities are there for artists and culture makers who would like to build a bridge between urban and rural areas? What kinds of pilot projects and festivals already exist? And: how can I conceptualize my project more strongly for rural areas, further develop it and situate it there?
Over the course of the two-and-a-half day long summer school format, the experts Katharina Husemann and David Adler will provide insights into their many years of practice as culture makers and project managers in rural areas and present the many diverse projects that are located at Schloss Bröllin. Carola Lehmann will share her experiences from numerous projects that have taken place far from cities, will support the participants in the further development of their ideas and concepts and will provide them with guidance during their field studies. The schedule of events will be rounded out by an internal viewing of the documentary Landpartie 2020: Kirche trifft Haltestelle – Orte der Begegnung (Country Party 2020: Church Meets Station) as well as a round of discussion with the local experts and projects.
Participation within the summer school format (input, workshop, round of exchange, viewing) is free of charge. Unfortunately, we cannot cover the costs for accommodation (single or shared rooms from 24.50 euros per night) and meals (7 euros per meal) due to the limited funding and must therefore be paid by the participants. Travel must also be organized and paid for by the participants themselves; if you have any questions about travel options, please do not hesitate to contact us.
