Workshop for Directing and Dramaturgy "Sammelpunkt"

February 22 and 23, 2025

European Curators Visiting the International Workshop for Directing and Dramaturgy "Sammelpunkt"

Urban Theater e.V. is hosting the international project “Workshop for Directing and Dramaturgy ‘Sammelpunkt’” from February 16 to 24, 2025, in Berlin. This project, funded by the Federal Foreign Office, explores how current European events shape people’s lives and consciousness through dramaturgy and theater. Participants include theater makers from Germany and Eastern Europe (e.g., Ukraine, Belarus, Poland, Russia) who are directly or indirectly involved in the military conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

A public presentation of the results from this theater lab, in the form of Work-In-Progress productions, will take place on February 22 and 23, 2025, at Theater Strahl. A public discussion with the curators and jury members about the presentations will be held on both days at 8:30 PM.

With the following curators:

  • Natalia Lapina – Artistic Director of the “Sammelpunkt” workshop, director from St. Petersburg and based in Berlin, Artistic Director of Urban Theater.

  • Dr. Natalia Skorokhod – Dramaturgical Director of the “Sammelpunkt” workshop, playwright based in Berlin, former founder and head of the Drama School in St. Petersburg.

  • Dr. Witalij Schmidt – Production Manager of the “Sammelpunkt” workshop, Managing Director of Urban Theater.
