Out now: Performing Arts Guide Berlin 26/27
More than 100 performance venues and numerous rehearsal and production spaces are located all over the city. International festivals, professional events and exchange formats foster dialogue locally and beyond. New spaces, collaborations and initiatives make perspectives visible that have long been underrepresented, and — despite significant challenges — set their own artistic and structural impetuses. In this way, Berlin’s indepen-
dent performing arts community not only features an extraordinary range of artistic forms of expression, but also reflects the societal reality of a diverse city.
The Performing Arts Guide is intended for professionals and members of the community, especially
those who are visiting the city. It offers a compact overview of the variety of Berlin’s independent
performing arts community. Alongside a comprehensive list of performance venues, the guide contains
portraits of central festivals and get-togethers as well as information about platforms, initiatives,
organizations and associations that contribute to its strengthening, networking and visibility. The Per-
forming Arts Guide also exists as an online platform — featuring an up-to-date events calendar, an
interactive map of the city and complete information about the performance venues.
