International trade fairs as opportunities for Berlin's independent performing arts

To promote the diversity of Berlin's independent performing arts community beyond the city's borders, the Performing Arts Program participates in national and international trade fairs and networking events, inviting artists and practitioners to present themselves and their work at shared exhibition stands. These visits not only increase visibility but also open up new opportunities for collaboration and offer fresh perspectives for the further development of our own projects.

We regularly participate in the following trade fairs and congresses, alongside members of the independent scene, at the joint stand of the Berlin Performing Arts Program:

  • internationale tanzmesse nrw, the largest professional gathering for contemporary dance, organized by the NRW State Office for Dance (nrw landesbüro tanz)
  • INTHEGA-Congress (Interessengemeinschaft der Städte mit Theatergastspielen e.V.), a trade association for the guest performance industry, representing over 400 municipalities in German-speaking countries
  • KinderKulturBörse, one of the most important networking events for children’s and youth theater in German-speaking countries
  • Internationale Kulturbörse Freiburg (IKF) the largest trade fair in the German-speaking region for stage productions, music, and events, featuring showcases and an extensive exhibition area
