Cartography of Residences: Encounters Between Germany and Latin America – Mexico

The programming series Cartography of Residences: Encounters Between Germany and Latin America serves as a space for dialogue between Germany and Latin America with a focus on residency programs for artists and culture makers working in the field of the independent performing arts. The series kicked off in early October in Berlin and will continue in December with three digital events.

Every session is dedicated to a different host country – Argentina, Chile and Mexico – and brings together outstanding representatives of the local performing arts, who will present the programs and residency locations as well as mobility funds that are dedicated to international cooperation. After each event, we open a space for collective dialogue to share strategies and jointly identify the challenges the sector faces on a daily basis.

With Mariana Arteaga (director, performer, curator), Pia Entenmann and Natalie Laufenberg (Goethe-Institut Mexico). Moderation: Belén Marinato (Berlin Performing Arts Program) and Ilona Goyeneche (independent curator, among others Ibero-American Theater Festival ¡Adelante!)

Language

The programming series will be held in Spanish spoken language with simultaneous interpretation into German spoken language. Q&A sessions will be possible in spoken Spanish, English, and German.

Access

The event will start at 5:00 p.m. (Germany local time) and 10:00 a.m. (Mexico City local time) and will take place online using the platform Zoom. The participation link will be shared after registration and a few days before the event.

Registration

Participation is free of charge. Please register to attend by November 27 using the online form below. Those who would like to attend all of the dates only need to fill out one form. The individual events can be attended independently of each other; have taken part in earlier events is not necessary.

Cartografía de residencias: Encuentros entre Alemania y América Latina – México

La serie "Cartografía de residencias: Encuentros entre Alemania y América Latina" se presenta como un espacio de diálogo entre Alemania y América Latina, con foco en programas de residencia para artistas y agentes culturales en el ámbito de las artes escénicas independientes. El inicio de la serie tuvo lugar a principios de octubre en Berlín y continuará en diciembre con tres eventos virtuales.

Cada sesión está dedicada a un país anfitrión diferente —Argentina, Chile y México— y reúne a destacadxs representantes de las artes escénicas locales, quienes presentarán algunos programas y espacios de residencia, así como fondos de movilidad dedicados a la cooperación internacional. Después de cada encuentro, se abrirá un espacio de diálogo colectivo para compartir estrategias e identificar conjuntamente los desafíos que enfrenta el sector en su quehacer cotidiano.

Idioma

La serie se llevará a cabo en español, con interpretación simultánea al alemán.
Las sesiones de preguntas y respuestas podrán realizarse en español, inglés o alemán.

Acceso

El evento comienza a las 17:00 horas (hora local en Alemania) y a las 10:00 horas (hora local en Ciudad de México), y se llevará a cabo en línea a través de Zoom. El link de acceso se enviará por correo electrónico unos días antes de cada evento.

Inscripción

La participación es gratuita. Les pedimos que se inscriban antes del 27 de noviembre de 2025 mediante el formulario en línea que se encuentra más abajo. Quienes deseen asistir a todas las fechas solo necesitan completar un único formulario. Se trata de tres sesiones independientes; no es necesario haber participado en encuentros anteriores o posteriores.
