Transnationals
Are you new to the city and is your native language something other than German? Does it seem like all of the information about the funding system as well as working on a freelance basis in the arts in German requires a background in rocket science? With our opportunities and events in a variety of language combinations, we have committed ourselves to meeting the needs of a growing, increasingly international community and provide orientation for those arriving in Berlin. Please get in touch with us; it will be our pleasure to provide you with appropriate support!
The regular networking format Getting Started As A Transnational Artist is specifically oriented to the needs of transnational people in Berlin, provides information pertaining to questions about funding opportunities, working as an artist on a freelance basis and bureaucratic challenges such as applying to the KSK and for visas.
In our publication Guides to Berlin’s Independent Arts Community, published in January 2020, we provided information and tips about Berlin’s advisement structures and points of contact and networks for transnational artists and culture makers in eight languages.
The follow-up publication, Guides to the Independent Arts: Information Brochure for Transnational Artists was published in November 2021. It expanded the scope of the offering and correspondingly presented advisement structures and points of contact as well as networking in four additional German cities and/or regions in eight languages.
